Job Description

Growing Learners is looking for caring and enthusiastic substitute teachers to join our team during the Spring and Summer months to help cover staff vacation time.

This is a perfect opportunity for college students or individuals seeking seasonal work with the potential to continue part-time during the school year.

Job Expectations – Substitute

  • Engage in Positive Interactions with Children
    Interact frequently with children at their level—making eye contact and using a warm, responsive tone.

  • Encourage and Model Appropriate Behavior
    Demonstrate and reinforce positive behavior throughout the day.

  • Support Play and Learning
    Guide children through age-appropriate activities, engage in meaningful conversation, and support social and emotional development.

  • Maintain Active Supervision
    Supervise children at all times—by both sight and sound.

  • Follow Health and Safety Guidelines
    Adhere to all health and safety procedures as outlined by the center and state regulations.

  • Keep Classrooms Clean and Organized
    Assist in maintaining a tidy, organized, and safe classroom and work environment.

  • Support Teachers with Activities and Curriculum
    Aid lead teachers in implementing activities and curriculum, stepping in where needed.

  • Build Parent Partnerships
    Greet parents warmly at drop-off and pick-up, and provide brief, informative updates on their child's day.

  • Update Daily Documentation
    Record and maintain accurate daily information and observations throughout the day.
